Worship on the Table

I just wanted to share these little notes I've written for myself in the back of my Bible. I study over these when it come time to take of the offering God provided for us through the sacrifice of his son.

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. "
----We take the bread, drink of the cup to remember his sacrifice given on the cross.

Jesus lived and is alive today, no matter the doubts the devil forces into your mind.

When we understand the why, we have a purpose.

Your life should reflect his, so has it?

Would you die to give the lost of this world the ultimate opportunity to live eternally?

Do I love God? Am I willing to obey him?

Is his son the most important thing in my life?

We partake of the unleavened bread because it represents sincerity and truth; it is pure bread, undefiled before God. Just as we are to keep the church unleavened (keep the evil out), we are to keep our soul and conscience clean by remembering his sacrifice. We drink of the fruit of the vine as we remind ourselves that good fruit comes from a good (uncorrupt) tree. Jesus bore good fruits, as as we examine ourselves, we have to ask ourselves are we pure, undefiled, and producing good fruits? Are producing the fruits of our Savior?

I Corinthians 11:26 "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he comes."
----When we take the bread that is Jesus' body and the cup that is his blood, we announce, we declare, and we make it known to God that we believe in the death of our savior for our sins and iniquities.

We are set apart by our meaningful partaking of the Lord's supper. We are set apart by God's ways.

The Holy Spirit is more than just a feeling; it is an understanding of the presence of our Father in all that we do.

The Holy Spirit will comfort us when our soul is suffering, encourage us when we reach out to others, but it will also reprimand us when we are out of line.

The Holy Spirit will bring us back to the path of righteousness when we stray, ONLY if we repent and strive for a better service to God.

The Holy Spirit will lead us back to righteousness ONLY if we don't stray away from the limits set by God.
---Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins."
